Easing the Transition into Fall

Updated: Sep 27, 2023

Fall is in the air.

Can you feel it? The air feels a little more crisp. The colors are appearing on the leaves. Gardens are being harvested and many plants have switched to seed producing. The energy of the autumnal equinox. Where the light and dark are once again at equal, and then slowly increasing the darkness. A shift. A change. A knowingness of transformation. I’ve been hatching butterflies. It’s been such an incredible gift to be able to watch them go through the entire cycle of egg - to caterpillar - to cocoon - to butterfly. The cocoon- the transition. The place where the caterpillar is 100% vulnerable and completely liquifies into a black goo. Where it will transform from one being into a substance and back into a new being- in 12 days. Letting go of what was to create something fully new. In nature’s timing, with ease.

Sometimes transitions are uncomfortable. Personally, I have been easing into this one. Taking it one day at a time. Allowing for the ebbs and flows of the temps and my mood. I’m not feeling a need to rush, nor desperate to cling to the hours of lights. Just in between and with no rush.

Transitional seasons are a wonderful time to refocus and renew. To clear out what is no longer serving and create space for what is ahead. Just as the leaves on the trees are falling away, I’ve been decluttering and cleaning, switching up my diffusing (especially on the days when the rain is coming down and there is a crisp feel in the air), beginning to make more soups and baking bread, and switching up my personal wellness routine (work outs, saunas and supplements). Meanwhile, when the sun is out, you will find me soaking in the vitamin D with my bare feet in the grass.

How are you feeling? How are you leaning into this season of transition?

My favorite fall scents:

Bergamot:

This slightly spicy citrus oil is the perfect addition to any Autumn diffuser blend! Bergamot is great with Eucalyptus, Spruce or Christmas Spirit! Bergamot is also very uplighting to the mood and emotions and is very cleansing. It may also provide cardiovascular and general wellness support when taken internally.

Cinnamon Bark:

If there were one scent to summarize Autumn it would be Cinnamon Bark! Spicy and reminiscent of baked goods, this oil is also incredibly supportive of the immune system and packs a great antioxidant punch.

Idaho Grand Fir:

Like walking through a winter forest, this tree oil is a favorite for so many. Also known as western white fir, Idaho Grand Fir essential oil was traditionally used by Native Americans to promote well-being. It has a refreshing, grounding aroma that evokes a sense of fall and winter nostalgie. Idaho Grand Fir can be used to enhance yoga or meditation when diffused or inhaled and promotes the sensation of deeper breathing.

Orange:

The happiest of all the oils, Orange is a wonderful addition to ANY diffuser blend. Pair it with spice oils like Cinnamon Bark and Nutmeg, with Idaho Grand Fir and Lavender for sleep, or with Thieves for a great everyday blend. Orange is an incredibly uplifting oil that also inspires creativity!

Nutmeg:

Nutmeg is an essential fall scent. Warm and welcoming, grounding and so good for our immune and adrenal systems! Diffuse this oil for a pick me up anytime of day. Pair with Cinnamon Bark, Orange, Thieves, or Idaho Grand Fir!

Thieves:

Thieves is the oil that's always in season, but it is especially wonderful this time of year. Cinnamon Bark, Clove, Eucalyptus and Rosemary essential oils are warm and inviting and create a calm, cozy space. Plus, they are incredible for purifying the air and supporting the immune system!

Clove:

Clove essential oil has a warm, spicy aroma that is lovely on its own and adds so much depth to other scents! This oil is rich and inviting, cleansing the air and creating a welcoming environment when diffused. It is also a powerhouse antioxidant that helps support the immune system and overall wellness.

Fall Diffusing

Fall Simplified Collection:

The Fall Simplified Collection is your easy button for filling your home up with cozy fall aromas plus the added benefits of essential oils (and no nasty chemicals)! This collection includes three yummy fall oils: orange spiced cider, cozy cabin and gingersnaps. The collection also comes with a FREE diffuser for a limited time.

This collection of diffuser blends has some of our favorites for the Autumn season! From candle dupe blends to immune support to blends for happy lungs, these oils are an essential part of our Autumn Hygge! No scented candles can hold a candle to these!

These blends contain spice oils like Cinnamon Bark, Nutmeg, Clove and Cardamom that are high in antioxidants and support the immune system while also creating a warm, inviting atmosphere! Citrus oils like Orange and Bergamot provide emotional support, uplifting the spirits and adding the delightful scent of citrus. Grounding tree oils like Northern Lights Black Spruce, Cedarwood and Patchouli are wonderful for both mind and body, helping to support lymphatic flow and calming worried thoughts. Lavender, Eucalyptus and Peppermint are wonderful for supporting and soothing the airways, which we often need this time of year!

My fave supplements for Fall Wellness:

Super Vitamin D:

Super Vitamin D is a super source of vitamin D that helps support bone growth and healthy muscle AND plays a key function in respiratory health, supports innate and adaptive defense mechanisms, and the immune system overall. Vitamin D is also critical for mood and hormone regulation! Young Living's Super Vitamin D is a small, dissolvable talbot infused with lemon balm extract and Lime Vitality essential oil for even more health benefits.

Immupro:

ImmuPro Chewable Tablets are one of the easiest ways to give your body a good boost! These tablets are packed full of immune-supporting herbs and essential oils that stimulate the immune system (both cell-mediated and humoral immunity!), provide necessary minerals like Zinc, Copper, and Selenium, and allow the body to rest by providing a small amount of melatonin. When we are stressed our bodies need sleep even more to allow healing to occur. So adding melatoning to the mix just makes sense!

Super C Chewable:

Super C Chewable tablets support normal immune, respiratory, and circulatory function with Orange essential oil and a broad range of fruit powders, including camu camu, acerola, cherry, and rose hip and delivers 150mg of Vitamin C per tablet. These ingredients work together to promote overall health, vitality, and longevity. The added premium essential oils may also increase bioflavonoid activity. Because your body cannot manufacture vitamin C, you can benefit by consuming this powerful antioxidant daily!

Inner Defense:

Inner Defense is just what the name suggests - a defense and protection from all that today's world can throw at us! This powerhouse blend of essential oil supports the immune and respiratory systems, making it a wonderful addition to your health routine either for daily use or for when your defenses start to go down.

I also make sure to keep up my regular daily supplements and mineral-infused wellness drink!
